The UCSF Library was recently awarded a COVID Library Relief Fund grant from the American Library Association (ALA). The grant funds will be used to support UCSF Health’s nursing staff by purchasing the resources that have been requested the most by nurses since UCSF Health closed the Fishbon Library at Mount Zion in 2020: standards of practice, clinical practice guidelines, and certification preparation materials. The UCSF Library is working closely with the Center for Nursing Excellence and Innovation to identify and prioritize which titles are purchased.
The UCSF Library anticipates that this award will assist nurses in adhering to established standards of practice and practice guidelines, directly impacting and improving patient care. Specific to nursing, this award will help UCSF Health meet its goal to increase the number of nurses who sit for and pass their specialty certifications.
