Install JMP 7 for Mac OS X
PURPOSE
Instructions for installing JMP 7 for Mac via the UCSF network.
 
 
Before You Install
  • -  Uninstall any previous versions or evaluation copies of the software.
  • -  Close all open applications.
  • -  Disable any virus scanning software on your computer.
  • -  Make sure you have the local administrator name and password for your computer.
  • -  You must be connected to the UCSF network.
 
Installation Instructions
  1. From your computer's desktop, navigate to the Go menu and select Connect to Server.
  2. For the server address, enter smb://rsl.library.ucsf.edu/jmp7mac and click Connect.
  3. For Workgroup or Domain, enter LIBRARY. For Name, enter dljmp. For Password, enter the password you received in an email from RSL (note: these passwords expire every week on Sunday night).
  4. A window with the JMP 7 installer application should appear. If it doesn't, go to your desktop and click on the icon JMP7MAC to open the window. Double-click the installer application to begin the installation process.
  5. Once the JMP program has been installed, navigate to the JMP program icon, usually located on the hard drive in the Applications folder. Control-click (or right-click) on the icon, choose Show Package Contents and then open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder. Replace the existing JMP.PER file with the new JMP.PER file you received in an email from RSL.
